I love the ever changing fluidity and randomness of nature. Nature is not only beautiful, as it is unpredictable. It is a joy to paint. Painting is my freedom and I love seeing my brushstrokes and emotionality on the canvas.

I welcome those moments when I am one with the paint and canvas. I may start with an idea of color or subject matter, or a photo reference; however, once the process gets under way, the painting may take on a different dynamic. I love those moments when emotion takes over and the result is something I didn't envision. My hope and goal is for that emotion to be shared and translated to the viewer, a shared experience and shared piece of art. There is no greater joy for me than to have someone connect with my art. I love the interaction that can be had with another person because of art.

The art of creation is a wonderful thing. If I can translate my joy of painting onto a blank canvas and then have that resonate joy to a person... that is what resonates with me. You can capture a moment in time that may not happen again, all from the use of paint and a blank canvas. It's magical. Color and brushstrokes can further make each painting and each landscape unique to that moment. I never tire of looking at nature's wonders. I never tire of painting.

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."

For me, every painting is an emotional journey.
